In the Garden

Giant crochet insect soft sculptures based on local insects from the Windsor/Essex region. Each creature is made of wool, hand dyed and mounted on a magnetic bar system.

Albedo

Crochet elements built on wooden canvas’ exploring the daily subconscious. Taking in lived experience and reflecting that through intertwining structure and emotion.

Hi, my name is Alexandria Masse. I’m a textile and fibre artist that creates sculptural and wearable art while documenting my creative process online. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Textiles/Fashion with a Minor in Art History at NSCAD University. I’m fascinated with how material can be manipulated through crochet and sewing. I was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario and use subject matter from my childhood memories, my mother’s culture, and the insects in my backyard.
